Where is Thermostat for S54?

I have changed out radiator temp switch. I also did 16" electric fan upgrade and engine fan delete. I am trying to replace the thermostat as well. However, I am having a hard time locating the thermostat on my car (S54). Anyone, help???

The blue thing just left of the oil filter lid is the thermostat housing.
Easy out but somewhat tricky back in without slicing the housing base o-ring.

Thanks.

By the way, did you photoshop those parts blue or did you thermo paint them? If you thermo painted them, did you use off the shelf product? I would love to dress up my underhood like that with black...
