2011 color choices
We have not seen any 2011 color which stands out, the black looks good, but we had several black cars (incl. 2001 x5) for the last 7 years. We like Mineral Silver, but it only comes with x6. I've seen good reviews for Spkl. Bronze, but I was not too impressed when I saw it in person. Has anyone seen 2011 in Deep Blue Sea (it is not available on local dealers)? Is it too different from last years Mo. Blue?

Deep Sea Blue is something you can see already on the 5er since it's been available for that model for a couple years. I believe it will be a slightly lighter shade than Monaco Blue.
Play around with the Visualiser, have you considered Platinum Gray? Looks sharp paired with the Style 334, 335, or 336 wheels. Goes well with a Oyster Interior and Aluminium or Anthracite Wood trim. |

Deep Sea Blue is a priority one option. Most dealers playing by the rules, won't be ordering this car unless it's a custom sold order. You -might- be able to see it at dealers if someone has ordered it and it is sitting there for pick-up.
Then there are other dealers that will order cars with priority one options and then sell them off the dealer lot (they aren't supposed to). I'm not sure that any dealer will take the risk and order that specific color to sell off the dealer lot. Last edited by arjuno; 05-10-2010 at 03:41 PM. |

I've got that combo on order (Sparkling Bronze/Oyster) changed from Alpine White/Cinnamon - I've been a little worried only seeing pics of the color, especially since they all seem a little different. My wife love the color she sees online, but I kind of worry ordering blind.. I have a 335i in Alpine White/Saddle and would order it again in a heartbeat

Reply to 335i
Spkl. Bronze looks great in all online pics/videos (most pics are photoshoped). But we have looked at it in local dealer twice. It is not as bright as I expected, kinda of flat / dull. I think it looks fine from fron, but not too crasy about the rear end look. It is still one of our choices...... with oyster interior.
I have not seen the deep blue see yet. Space Gray and Platinum gray look good too, but we want something different. Btw, we also have 335i CV black / Saddle brown. |

You wanna talk rare? I have only seen a light green X5 once. Now that's a hot color, too bad they don't make it no more. Red is another great choice too.

Actually Mineral Green is quite common where I live and not sure if I called a "Hot" color. But I agree, the V. red is rare.....!

When I ordered my 2011 X5 35d, I tried to order it in Vermillion Red (based on the BMW international configurator), but I was told that VR was not available in the US as an option.
Ended up picking Black Sapphire Metallic |

Vermillion Red is a Priority 1 option along with Deep Sea Blue. Why would your dealer tell you that it's not available in the US?

It's obvious he has one that falls under one extreme, you take the pick of which one that is. They even have the cliff note version of an ordering guide that lists all available options for respective models. The section under available colors is hard to miss! So has anyone seen Sparkling Bronze in the wild? Impressions/photos?

A dealer here in Toronto had one. Its a nice conservative colour. Imagine the Photoshop out of the pics and you've got it.

I have seen it inside showroom and parked ouside in cover parking. In my opinion, it is less Sparkling and more brown / bronze. Some of the online pictures are heavily photo-shoped. We are still considering the color since I have been driving White / silver / Black cars since 1998. My vote is
I know this does not help!Since we are leasing the car, we may go for it. It is only 3 years. If I was buying the car and keeping it longer, I would consider Space/platinum Grey or Black. |

Just went to dealer and saw Sparkling Bronze. Looked like I hoped it would. Could be called Metallic Brown, but nobody would buy one of those! I like it. Different. Sporty yet high-end. I saw a non-ZPP model. I think it will look even better with the black Sportline trim like the one I ordered. Also saw a red one - looks hot but a little too flashy for me.

NMSports - are you in ABQ?
I am in Santa Fe right now & they have no '11's here yet at the small dealership here. I have a Sparking Bronze on order (scheduled for a week 21 build) with the Cinnamon Brown interior. I ordered sight unseen because I thought the SB would be a pretty "rich" or "deep" color. Glad to hear you like it.
If it is at the dealer in ABQ, please advise as I may run down and take a look at it tomorrow. Thanks, Bob |

They have 3 here, but they are all hidden in the back lot (but you can just walk back there on the North side). They have Bronze, Vermillion, and Space Gray. The bronze is on a V8 but its a stripper. The other 2 are 35s with sport package and other stuff.

Has anyone seen any cars with Sparkling Bronze in the Los Angeles area? I'm dying to see what it looks like! I keep calling and asking for updates on my car, and they keep telling me it's in production with no date. So frustrating!!!
