Anyone powder-coated/painted their stock 19's?

I'm looking to buy a black 645, I just haven't found a good deal yet, but once I get one I want to throw on some springs, paint the stock wheels and front grill black and tint the tail lights. I was just curious to see if anyone has powder coated or painted their stock 19's black? If so, please post pics.

I wouldn't paint the grills...to much of a hassle plus there's plenty on the net and ebay for under 100 bucks. There's a few people that have there elipsoids powder coated, just surf the forums a bit and you'll find them.

Oh believe me, I searched. I'm from the e65 forum section so I haven't been around in the 6-series section to see if it has been done. I tried searching, but couldn't find anything and thats why I was hoping someone would know what user has had it done.

Would you go with matte black or gloss black?

Agree. Take it easy on the new recruit . Guys around here tend to diss the elipsoids but when I had them on the 04, I actually liked them. I've seen them painted in black and thought it looked great. Search the forum, its around here some where. Good luck on your purchase.

^lol thanks guys. I searched around and couldn't find the sport 19's in black. I will likely do it anyways. I will eventually buy a new set of 22 or 21" wheels once I find the right ones, but will always need the stocks for winter anyways so why not.

Wow! That looks awesome!! I want to do it to my car - looks waaay better than all of this aftermarket crap LOL. JK No seriously, looks mean! Is that paint or powder-coating? , BTW, I've painted the calipers and centers of the rotor (it was dirty) gloss black - looks much better. Now it looks like a whole piece, instead of a calipers and break shoes.

Matte all day long...some would and would not agree..but the choice is yours....if you Google matte elipsoid wheels BMW 645, I'm sure you'll find a few pictures of both and I'd decide from there.

dunno how difficult it is but you could wrap it in black matte vinyl film and see first and if you like it, paint it...

thanks for the help guys. I think I might just go with matte. It'll look nice with a matte grill. I cant wait to get the 6. I just test drove one again today and believe me, its a big difference from the 7 series. The handling is great and feels like a true sports car. The 7 series is just too big for me. Im 22 years old and don't need the extra space. Now I just need to find the right one for the right price.
