Which car did you have the first year you came?

Was it a white e39? Didn't we do the Angel Eyes install on your car??

Jon, yep. I had the Evosport 5 series. The car was in the showroom but no work was being done on it. Just got a prime spot to park!

I actually like the Rose Bowl for this sort of thing. It's really easy to get up into the mountains (assuming they open the Angeles Crest Highway before the 22nd). I've been to a couple of functions there and it's always nice and open, easy to get around, and easy to exit. I was there for the second to last stage of the Tour Of California (had way more people than BF will likely ever have) and traffic was easy and light.

If the founders are interested in suggestions for next year (again not that I don't like the rose bowl) the empire polo club in Plam Springs (Actually Indio) is where the Coachella music festival is held every year and it's huge and quite classy if you like that high desert sort of thing. It also helps that the mountain and desert roads around the Coachella valley are some of the best roads in California. It's also a bit of a destination as almost none of us live there.

I was at the Ventura Fair Grounds for an event this past fall, and there was a TON of parking (all paved). Not too far from SB, so it might be a nice 'beach' alternative if available.

Jon, I just ran across an old thread that indicates that, yes, Evosport did do an Angel Eyes install on my 5 series in the showroom. The reason I did not remember that is that I was roaming around Cutter Motors all day long. I never watched the install.

As long as Bimmerfest remains in Pasadena, I'll keep coming back. It easily accommodated us. And I am looking forward to when we all park by class (E21, E30, E46, etc.).

Jon, it was nice seeing and talking with you after an 8-year hiatus for me.

Can we get something like a raffle ticket or goodie bag for our $20 next year? Seems like it was a bit much to just "park" your car. I think BMW NA should have donated more free stuff than just bringing a couple cars/bikes. Maybe since this is like a promo for them, they should invest a bit more money into the event. I wouldn't have minded getting like a free BMW Tshirt or something.

I am truly appreciative of Jon and the team. They did what they had to do by moving it to the rosebowl... but honestly I did not like the giant parking lot feeling this Bimmerfest had. Last year was a super awesome experience and captured the Bimmerfest spirit really well. The grass was just so nice. I think it has to move back to Santa Barbara. The location alone is the part of the Bimmerfest experience. Plus, in the future we may not get so lucky here in LA with 72 degree weather.. just my two cents.

The whispers around Bimmerfest yesterday convince me that part of the Polo club's decision to balk at this year's event had a lot to do with the destruction of the field last year. Burn outs created large divots on the grass.

I don't expect this event to be held on grass again (regardless of venue). A few spoiled it for the bunch.

I didn't mind the parking lot feel to this event. And I think that once the event is organized by E codes, some of us will enjoy it more.
