ALIGNMENT issues?

I put new Koni Strts and Vogtland lowering springs on my 02 325I. That lowered it approximately 1.5 inches. I also added a camber kit on the front. When I had the the alignment done I wanted to keep the front and rear camber straight up for tire mileage. I had the front right on before the alignment guy did anything. The rear camber was about -3. The mech. was looking at the specs for a sport suspension and said that is about where it should be. I convinced him to bring it in to -2.8. NOW, my question. What extra or undue stress would it put on my suspension to have even less negative camber on the rear end? I am looking more for mileage and not so much aggressive handling. Hope some suspension gurus can help.

I don't know about added stress, but the camber numbers you're tossing around look very aggressive. You mentioned "I am looking more for mileage and not so much aggressive handling". If that's the case try to get back to under 1 degree negative in the front and under 1.5 degrees negative in the back. I think it will be hard to get closer to spec with the new suspension geometry, but -3 degrees will kill your tires.

The front camber is good, straight up, no negative camber. I just want to get the rear at a lot less than -3 camber.

Spec on the rear is between -1.0 and -1.5 degrees FYI. I guess I don't understand why you're so negatively cambered in the rear. I lowered my car between 1.00 and 1.25 inches and have my rears set to -1.3 degrees.

If you can't, for whatever reason, get back to some reasonable rear camber setting, consider non-directional tires so you can do legitimate tire rotations more frequently and keep the tire wear more uniform.
