My New 2011 X5 5.0 (Space Gray / Oyster)
PDC Delivery on Monday. I will post more pictures later.
My impression at first 200 miles: Pros: --> Power and lot of low torque --> Smooth engine & transmission --> Ride (with 20" sport Package) --> HWY MPG (21.5) driving back home, cruising @ 75 - 85 MPH --> Multi-contour Seats comfort --> HUD --> Rear seat space with 3rd row folded down --> Cargo space with 3rd row seat down --> Sunroof Cons: --> No LED Angel Eyes --> No LED License Plate light --> No LED interior lights --> Third row seat too small, even for kids. --> Access to third row seat --> Driver seat should be higher --> Location of key is too close to steering wheel --> Still no automatic night mode on Navigation --> Tow hitch not available & location is not very well designed! --> Premium Sound still needs improvement (compared to Lexus MK)

x5ian,
I noticed you ordered yours from United BMW. That's where I placed my order, and got my current X3 from. How long did yours take from order date to delivery?

So I'm probably about 2 weeks behind you - I ordered 6/1, and I'm having it delivered. Would've loved to have done PDC, but I'm 5 months preggo. They're giving me BMW 101 to go to after the baby comes....

The fountain! Looks like the one I have in my backyard! And oh, who said you can park on the sidewalk?

Very impressive! I am considering one. What are the deficiencies of the premium sound system?

If you're going to pony up for the Ipod/USB adapter for $400, you might as well pony up $800 to upgrade the sound system imo...otherwise you'll probably spend a grand or so with an aftermarket solution. At least that was my reasoning for getting it. The upgraded sound system has a 7band equalizer (Logic7 system) which is nice if you want to tweak it. I found the sound a little "tinny" so I upped the low and mid ranges a little.

In my opinion, the premium system sound quality is well above average, but not as good as Lexus MK system (industry benchmark for auto sound system?), specially the clean base and accurate mids in HK. One reason is BMW is using smaller speakers and sub woofers.
Since I drive 2 hours each day, I am still glad I upgraded the system to permium. well worth it since the after market will cost alot more. Hopefully BMW will further improve their sound system in G3 X5.
