2011 535i arrived at the dealer on Saturday

I just got to veiw and sit in the New 2011 535i yesterday afternoon. For a minute I mistaked it for a 7 and so did many others. So I placed an order and I will be saying good bye to my 2008 535i sport in 6 to 8 weeks. The car was at Open Road BMW in Edison, New jersey

Thanks for the update. How was the car equipped? Sport package? Colors? Are they offering test drives? Any other impressions? Pros/Cons? Any other comments from the dealer? I may drive down and check it out this week. Thanks.

Car arrived late afternoon so no test drives were offered. 535i Black Metallic w/ Beige Interior, No sports package, standard 18" rims (not a fan of rim style-forced me to order sports package for 19" upgrade). Premium 1 w/ Navigation, i-pod, cold weather package. Lines looked good but hard to tell on Black color. Definately looked like a short style 7 Series. Great interior changes from '08. Seemed roomier & updated dash. Cup holder style was a great change. Liked it enough to order one yesterday!

What color was the headliner? Oyster gray or beige?

Just saw on YouTube that my dealer (Hunterdon NJ) received their demo F10 535i this weekend. Looks to be the same config as the one Raygun saw - Black Sapphire, Beige, non-sport, nav. I'll have to check it out this week.

Just signed up for an ultimate drive event, along with an Audi A6 (MB is a no). So, I plan to see what the deal is next month.

I predict you are going to love the new 5er. It is an outstanding car.

I saw the car yesterday after reading this.
It was NEW...so it really didn't have any mileage.

And it had a beige headliner. Open Road decided to use this car for display purposes,
so they're not allowing any test drives until they get another car.

Any F10s in Dallas?

Has the new F10 been sighted at any Dallas area dealers yet?
I will be at the dealership in Plano Monday and hope to see one.

I have 2002 E46 330i (Euro Delivery) and have been holding out for new models as I am not fond of the E60 styling at all and only OK with E90 3-series. I am looking to finally get a replacement in a year or so and was considering to move up to the 5 since the kids are growing up and would like to have more room. The new F10 looks great from the pics I have seen, just hope I can hold out until the new 3 is announced so can make the most informed decision.

Rasmussen has one tucked away upstairs in Portland, for a few "private" advance viewings. It was out in front yesterday, where I had a chance to look it over. A 535i with not many extras. Curiously, they left it unattended with the spare key in the center console, which meant that when I pushed the "Start" button it fired right up. (I resisted the temptation to drive it off.) My guess is that all or mosts dealers are getting their first demo units now. One disappointing note: the driver's seat didn't quite go back as far as it needs to for my comfort. (I'm just under 6'0".)

Just saw and drove a FULLY loaded '11 535i with an MSRP of $74,700. only thing missing was HUD and night vision. Sapphire Black/Black interior. Nappa leather.. loaded. My opinion - some parts are 7 like, some 3 like. NO aero kit for sports model. this is standard BMW procedure for 1st year.. that's how they get me to upgrade in latter years. Active steering is very noticeable. takes some getting used to, and I've had 3 cars from BMW with AS. this car had rear entertainment, not needed, but it's in there. I would prefer a 550, but not real discounts yet. I'm able to take this 535i for $1500 over cost, about $4000 off sticker. 24 month residual for 12k is huge at 68%, puts payment at about $1200/tax in. $1045 for 36 months. these are with full 7 MSD's. this is nuts in my opinion for a 535i, but indicative of current leasing climate. comparable 750i is $425 more.

Engine wise, at only 300 HP, car is smooth as silk. quite honestly, took no time to get to 100 MPH, and felt like I was doing 60. no kidding! Car wandered across lanes a little more than I'd anticipate, but may take some getting used to. Interior is nice. nice metal accents, good positioning of door handles, etc. IDrive is now something to reckon with. very impressive BMW. Premium sound good, not great, but didn't really set tones properly. ceramic controls unavailable as of yet. Car had 19" Goodyear runflats. Wheels - there was some initial questions from members on the sport package wheels. They are decent. Not as dynamic we will see in future years of this car, but fine.

I'll let you know if I get it.. or plop down another $80/month for a 550i with less equipment.

I saw a premium packaged 535i at Nalley BMW in Decatur GA. I was totally unimpressed. I preferred the looks of the M sport 740i. I hope the sport package F10 looks far better than the non SP.

Post Straight scoop on 2011 535

Have the car a month. Got use to the new design pretty quickly. love it. Interior also great. Ridiculous place provided for key. ( never liked the keyless start, never know where to put the keys ) anyway as far as the ride, the steering is a little disappointing. My lexus is now tighter. I miss the hydraulic steering. Car now has electronic-) I find the crease of the seat also a little annoying. the seat breaks right where I can feel it. Bluetooth still not perfected. often have to re Pair. radio good, features good. ride is a little noisier than my '07.
no spare because of RFT. Overall really like the car. Pretty quick with nice appointments
maybe the optional steering package would have helped, but this is my 6th BMW and steering has always been nice and tight until now
