Pre-ordering questions - Bimmerfest

I was wondering if you still get as good a deal if you preorder...im about to order a 535xi and dont want to overpay...what are your thoughts??

I'm wondering the same thing too. I've got a bead on a used 2009 750i sold in 12/09 (original sticker $96k) in mint condition for $69900 vs. ordering a 2011 535 x-drive. Most of the 5er on the lots here in MN are base models with not a lot of options. Don't know what it's like in NJ. I have USAA insurance, and according to them and those on their forum, their "Car Buying Service" will allow me to get the 2011 5er for about $4300 off MSRP. I'm surprised, but I'm going to try and see if it works. Anyone else here have USAA and used this service or has anyone gotten a new 5er for this much off? I read somewhere on one of the news websites that BMW is selling out of the new 5ers quickly. With that kind of demand, I'll be a happy man if this works out.

Supply is low right now on the F10's so I doubt there's really great deals out there.

If you order your car from the factory through your dealer you have two advantages. First, you get exactly the car you want. Second, the dealer does not have to pay for a car that he has to borrow the money from the bank to buy and pay interest on until he sells it. He can pass this saving on to you. Just tell him you will give him a specified amount in profit above the dealer invoice. Start low and negotiate up until you reach a deal. Don't start from the list price and negotiate downwards.
