DVD player
does the navi + idrive comes with the DVD player? (i dont have the backseat entertainment)

The DVD player does work when stationary in US vehicles, since I just tested it out in my new 535i!

It is too bad BMW HK deliberately disables this feature because of outdated regulation. US car regulation is more up-to-date.

that kinda defeat the purpose of driving + drinking + dvd
 hahaha, but good to know it plays dvd somehow

It plays very nice while stationary. Great screen and sound...LOL..now are there any techs out there that can help us enable it to work while driving? I know when I had one installed in my daughters car they installed a switch which fooled the vehicle into thinking it was stationary. Surely BMW's can be tricked! Any help woudl be appreciated

did I get this right ... without the rear entertainment package ... you can play DVD's while stationary in the front Navi screen?

yes. You can do that without the entertainment option however , you have to be in park to enjoy.
