Finally my CA called me today to inform that mine is going to be delivered on Friday. I hope that it will be delivered.

Did anyone picked it up the same day it got delivered to dealer?

Also are there any specific things that I have to careful while taking delivery?

Please let me know

Thanks

Just to confirm what we already know - the automated 1-800 lady says that my car still has "no confirmed production" date, and BMWUSA just lists it as "On Order". But I talked with an operator today, and they said it entered production this morning, will be done end of next week! Woohoo!

They should just get a summer intern to fix their tracking systems... if UPS can track millions of packages down to the minute, surely BMW can track cars at a couple of their own factories.

Yesterday night, the status of X5 changed to "At Your BMW Center".

Does It mean that it is at my dealer already?

Thanks

I emailed my NJ dealer today (JMK) asking if they are seeing any shipment delays... He said "no", they got car finished production on June 30th and delivered to them July 5th... (keep in mind this is over the holiday weekend, too!)... The CA has no reason to BS me, my family had 5 BMWs bought from him, he knows that he must be transparent with us all the way (other reasons for that too )

Not really. Tracking status changed to "At Your BMW Center" on 6/24, but my car arrived at dealer on 7/2.

Got a call from my dealer asking me to come and pick up my X5.

This is the timeline of my X5.
Ordered: Jun 16th
Got Order#: Jun 18th
Prod Start: Jun 24th
Prod done: Jul 1st
Enter VPC: Jul 2nd
Done VPC: Jul 3rd
Given to Carrier: Jul 3rd
Wait Wait...... : Jul 13th
Exit Port Of Entry: Jul 14th
At Dealer: Jul 15th
Pick Up: Jul 16th

Everything was fine except the ten day wait from Jul 3rd to 13th. It was in SC doing nothing. All those updates by my CA about getting them shipped by trains are stories. It was shipped by a Truck full of vehicles all of them belongs to my dealer. And to have a full truck they waited about 10 days.

No complaints tough, I can't expect them to ship one by one.

Will post some pics over the weekend

Thanks

Newmanium, when did you place your order again?

I put mine in on June 23 and as of now (I just called 1-800 and spoke with the operator) mine is still status 112 (scheduled for daily production) but no production start date yet.

I think we need to have a new thread for traking the June orders. I'll work on it tonight.

June 14 - went into production on July 15

And the 1-800 number says that it's currently in production finally - so it looks like 1-800 is updated the day *after* your car actually starts production. It says the estimated completion is July 23, so 7 business days.

Who is your dealer ? If you have a low-volume dealer, or dealer far away from the rest of dealers, it might explain it...

Doh!

They used to fill a truck immediately with a cars from dealers in a cluster, or along a close path. Seems the new logistics isn't quite as effective.

It is really nice when the CA just lies and makes up stories though.... way to gain credibility.

Enjoy

It's gettin closer

I ordered my X5 diesel on June 9th. The dealer prioritized mine by substituting my order for one of his previously on order. This week the status went from scheduled for production to In Production with a completion date of July 22nd. Now if only my vehicle makes it onto the train that's in a soon to depart mode, I'll be a happy camper.

AW w' SB. Tech pkg, premium, premium sound, rear climate, third row, heated front seats, & roof rack. Really looking forward to this ownership experience.
