Unhappy Lighter Socket

Hi guys.. need some help.

I absolutely love my 528i.. there are 2 things that bug me..
1) the cup holders.. easily resolved with aftermarket stuff
2) the cigerette lighter socket...

Currently the cigerette lighter socket draws power whether the key is in the ignition or not.. I hate this.. is there a way to change this easily (ie something I can do myself) so the lighter socket will only wok with the key in the ignition.

Thanks

Not sure why the cig lighter remaining "hot" is an issue...but if it's because you're using it to run electronic peripheral devices...BMW has an adapter that can be purchased for usually less than $20 that allows you to adapt the glovebox's flashlight receptacle. That receptacle is switched (no power when ignition is off). And the adapter can remain plugged in when the glovebox is closed:

Amazon.com has it on sale for $7.99: http://www.amazon.com/BMW-Genuine-Au.../dp/B000NCNB92 (I'm not affiliated with or am I endorsing the seller of this item...the link was picked at random)

+1 on the glovebox adapter! I use it, along with a splitter, to run my navigation and Sirius radio--no concerns about leaving stuff on when you shut the engine since as mentioned the glove box outlet cuts off.
