03 745Li - How are newer Continental tires?

I just joined bimmerfest and maybe should have done it before I just bought Conti Extra Contact DW tires for my 745li. There were a lot of negative comments on Conti's as to wear and noise. Are the newer models better or am I in for a bad ride?
