Aftermarket Amp/Sub

I posted a DIY a while back on wiring/installing an aftermarket amp/sup, but upgraded a bit

I got a JL Audio 8W7 8" sub and a JBL GTO4004 amp to replace the cheap sub/amp I had. I'll tell you what...they werem't lying when they said the JL Audio's W7's are awesome. A single 8" sub in a ported/downfiring box blew my 2 Kenwood 12"s out of the water.

I bridged the rear outputs for the sub and hooked up the factory underseat subs to the front channels of the amp. Then I high passed the factory subs at 80 hz and let the W7 handle everything below that, The underseat subs sound better/cleaner and can take more power without having to handle all the low end bass. I think I'm happy now but might order some Earthquakes to replace the factory subs...

Sweet I am going to do a sound system upgrade soon in my vert. Might just trying putting in a sub versus doing a whole system upgrade. I will see what I have left to play with in terms of cash once I finish with the kitchen upgrade.
