2011 X35D - Alpine white delivery
Picked up the X5D on Thursday July 24th. Delivery was earlier than I wanted. Car arrived at the dealer on July 20th and my dealer was pushing me to pick up the car. I wanted my dealer to give me the $ 1,000 discount on the same day I attended the event and assurance that my lease deposit and disposal fee for the 2007 Z-4 will be refunded (Z-4 lease return is on August 7th). Also, I didn’t want our new truck to bet baked on this hot weather. This dealer has a roof top parking facility for all of their inventory.
This is our first diesel purchase and so far don’t regret it. This is my wife’s ride but I used it for the two day work commute about 60 miles each day. Here are my comments: Engine noise: Diesel engine noise can be heard when you start but the noise disappears at highway speeds. Delivery from Oxnard, CA: Our car was delivered through Wagoneer Transport (trucking company which has been hauling BMW’s for sometime) also it came in a covered truck. Diesel MPG: After 130 miles car shows it has 355 miles left (indicator shows 3/4th full). HUD: New HUD has a user height adjustable feature. In the prior year models (M5 and 530), dealer needs to make the adjustment. Price: $ 2200 over invoice (includes MACO, training and all other fees except standard P & D). I could have saved few hundred from the other dealer but chose to stick with my dealer due to their excellent customer and service staff. This is my 3rd car in four years with this dealer. This ride came with the cargo cover. Love the alpine white and 20” wheels. I am not a fan of tobacco brown interior but it’s not my choice. Interior looks ok but I would have preferred black. Wheels are easier to clean than my E60 M5. I will be putting a clear mask in few days and will be doing 700 miles road trip this weekend. Will give more feed back later.

Did it come with a ski bag?
Also, post your mpg after your 700 mile trip.

Hmm...where was the bag, in the second row armrest storage? My 35d didn't have the storage bag slot, but I did get the cold weather pack.

assuming it was built after the factory shutdown earlier this month, can you confirm if your ipod/bluetooth came with the new features that were suppose to be included in the September build per an earlier thread? I was thinking it might have made it in after the factory shutdown. thanks

Sure, also where it is stored? Maybe I'm looking at the wrong part of the arm rest, or need to spend more than 30 seconds looking for it. heh.

Looks nice - good price for around here, that's almost exactly what I have agreed to pay from the same dealer (should be here within a few weeks). And I don't think you could have saved anything more from the "other dealer" - they wanted about 2k more! I was very disappointed, especially after having just bought a CPO 7 months earlier from them (lowballed trade on the car they had just sold me, and wanted significantly more profit on the new purchase to boot). They are great up until the price, then it's somehow expected that an extra few grand is just expected - was never told why I should pay more. So far, have had a great relationship with my CA at Kuni, they've been fantastic.
How long did the shipping take for you? Mine is currently "waiting to be released to carrier", and I'm not sure if that means it's in Oxnard yet, or still in SC. I went to the event on the 24th, saw them polishing up your car... looked great! Congrats! Any recommendations on good diesel stations? The cheapest I've seen is near the Wilsonville Costco at Chevron, it's been the same or cheaper than regular fuel the past few times I've checked (woohoo!).

Salem dealer offered me $ 1200 over invoice plus MACO and training. I have bought two cars from the other Portland dealer and their service dept. is not upto BMW standards. Also, I had a crappy CA who had a serious memory problem.
I have worked with three CA's at Kuni and they all are great. I think their biggest strength is their service team and loaner fleet. I haven't researched on diesel prices yet. I probably fill use the Shell gas station near my home as this vehicle will need a fill up a month as this is my wifes' car. I placed my order on May 14th and requested end of July or early August delivery. For my car, Released to carrier means your car has left Oxnard, CA. If took three days from Oxnard to PDX. Good luck with your delivery. Quote:

Shell gives $.10 off diesel on Mondays...in my area, it brings it under the price of Premium. I always hold out for Mondays.
