Cloth Door Trim fell E46 M3

The cloth trim just inside my E46 2002 fell away from door trim the other day in the NC heat. The car doesn't usually sit in the sun but, it did that day. Wondering if anyone has experiences this failure. Looking for a materials that have successfully reattached this cloth trim. One suggestion was remove it and forget it was ever there. Liquid adhesives seem very messy.
