hey, im looking for a good navigation system, anybody have any suggestions?

I'll reply to my own post, especially after seeing your post count (1).

First of all, welcome. Not that it's my place to say, since I am not a moderator, but welcome nonetheless.

There has been a LOT posted on this forum on this topic. The fan favorite seems to be the Garmin Street Pilot III. Check out this thread.

You can also go to the General forum and search for "nav" , "garmin", "navigation" or variations on that theme. I think that you will find this amounts to a religious debate -- do you want portability, easy of installation, integration, etc. There are a lot of tradeoffs. I would suggest a little light reading, then some more detailed questions.

As far as portable navigation goes, Garmin is about the best out there.

I have a small Garmin eMap that does just about everything I can ask of it. Drawbacks (but not major issues to me) are the lack of color display and lack of route calculation (it is done on the PC at home).

A good friend has a Streetpilot. They are very nice, but a bit more money.
