94 740iL Seat problem

The passenger side of my vehicle appears to work on one side only making the inoperable side appear warped or in a bind if I try to adjust it. In otherwords, the seat will appear as if it is tilted if adjusted. I just purchased vehicle and wanted to see if there is anyone that knows a solution short of giving up my right arm. Thanks.
