M Sport now ordered on 550i

I've been waiting a long time but just got confirmation from my dealer that my 550i M sport is officially ordered. It has been avail for the 550ix for a few weeks but not for the 2 wheel drive cars.

I have a 535i with the M-Sport on order for week 35 (first week in September). When is your suppose to be build?

so are the msports arriving in September or Sepetmber production?

Today is the first day my dealer has been able to place the order (and he has been trying every day for 3 weeks) for a 550i with M sport. The M package is a September build option so you will not see one with this package at the dealer for about 2 months. You could order a Sep build X drive F10 with M sport package as of about two weeks ago.

What's included in the M Sport package and how much does it cost? Does someone have a link to it? I'm going to be ordering a 550i in the not too distant future and the M package may be something I'd like to include.

The M Sport pkg includes the Sport Package and Dynamic Handling Package and the Anthracite Headliner which can all be ordered by themselves. In addition to those pakages, it includes front and rear bodywork, M wheels, M steering wheel (don't really know how different it is from the sport wheel but hearing it is thicker), and metal trim in place of wood trim (but wood can still be ordered). So, for $6,500 you get $5,400 in other option packages plus the M items. Or, you get bodywork, wheels etc for an additional $1,100. I was going to order a 550i with Sport Package, Dynamic Handling and Anthracite Headliner anyway so, for $1,100, I like the additional upgrades.

Thanks for the information and the link. I was also going to order my 550 with both the sport package and the dynamic handling package and ordering the M package for a difference of $1,100 sure makes sense to me too. There are two other questions I have and hope you have the answers. I do like both the wheels that come with the regular sport package (style 331) and the rectangular exhaust tips that come with the regular 550. The pictures I've seen of the M sport package cars have round exhaust tips, so: Is it possible to order the regular style 331 wheels with the M package? and . . Does the M package keep the rectangular tips on the 550? (assuming the pictured M package is that of a 535).

One more thing. It looks like the suspension with the sport package and dynamic handling and the suspension on the same car with the M sport package are exactly the same. Is this so? I just love the feel of the regular sport package suspension and I would not like it to be different at all if I order the M package.

I do not think it is possible to order the M-Sport package with the 331 style wheels. It is part of the package and there doesnt seem to be a delete option. This might be something the dealer would be willing to do, since the M-Sport wheels are probably considered desirable. They do let you order the 311 or 312 wheels in 20" (extra money of course!)

The M-Sport 550 does come with rectangular tips. go to BMWUSA, build your own, and check out the 550xi where you can currently add the M-Sport package and see what it will look like. The M-Sport package for the 550i "build your own" should be up any day now.

Can you get a 550 xi with a 6 speed?

Moose- I went shopping mid to late July. Once I settled on a dealer, I told them I wanted the first available Sept build, for both the technology reason and for the M-Sport pkg. As soon as we agreed on details of pricing and I placed a deposit, I got the production slot. If I remember correctly, they did go in and revise it in early August (still in 112) to add the M-Sport pkg. Mine supposedly, is to be built starting sometime next week. My fingers are crossed.

I know it's a broken record but you got to get the M-sport package w/any 5 series. It just looks that much better, and the handling is awesome!

Just found out that my early September M-sport 550i got bumped to week 40 so clearly, something is up...

Just received BMW ED NA confirmation for ED on September 27th. 550 with M Sport package in Carbon Black with Black Nappa leather. I hope it is not going to change.

No, I have a 535i on order. You made me so nervous lol, so I called BMW customer service this morning. Of course the website says "Vehicle on Order" and the phone system said the same thing "with no confirmed production date." HOWEVER, I spoke with an agent that confirmed my cay is in production (150 status) as of yesterday at 8:44a I am SO excited. Its estimating a Sept 8 completion or sooner. Now time to check those ship schedules.

I am sorry that your order has been pushed. I know that Sept orders got double overwhelmed due to everyone wanting the technology upgrades and then also the start of the M-Sport availability. I do think that are cranking them out, so maybe you will be surprised and they will get to your order sooner.

That is great news Brandon. Glad they have yours in 150 already. I am hoping they move mine up a bit as almost 4 months is a long time to wait for an ordered car to show up. Make sure you post some photos when yours arrives

When the F10 first arrived, I was ready to jump on it... but I was thinking this time around I would get an M series and decided to wait... looking at the picture of the M package on the 550ix - I'm sorry guys, I'm not really feeling that look... it doesn't look... hmmm... aggressive enough (if that makes sense)... it looks more understated... that's just me though... that said, I think I will get an M, but it'll be the M3... again, don't bang the drums against me, it's just MHO...
