Mountain bike fit in 740i 2001 trunk?

picking up car from the shop and I dont feel like bumming a ride or getting a cab. does anyone know if a mountain bike will fit in the trunk of a 740i? take off the front wheel?

any suggestions?

I want to say probably so with the front tire off. My Haro isn't easy to take apart so I have a bike rack for the trunk lid. It actually fit in my back seat, even having front and rear pegs. I did put a thick moving blanket over my leather though so not to damage the interior.

I put mine behind the front seats w/ front wheel off or in the trunk w/ both wheels off

I do have a bike rack but it doesn't fit or something. It was easy to hook onto my Hondas and Subaru. But their trunk lids were different. I bet I could get a quick lock thing for my Haro's front wheel. Then it'd fit in te trunk or back seat easy. Just wouldn't have my pegs though.
