Engine shut down while driving

Hellow every body?
I have 2006 750li with 75,000miles. Today I drive arround 20~30mph, engine shut down one time, when the engine died, my wife has key in passenger side, I didn`t put the key in slot. Its can shut down the engine? I`m wondering it happen again.
Please help....
