Good Deal on 535i?

Just want to see how good of a deal, if at all, i got on my new 535i.

Exterior: Dark Metallic
Interior: Everest Gray/Anthracite Wood Trim
Packages: Convenience, Premium, Cold Weather, Active Ventilated Seat
Options: Split fold down rear seats, Ipod adapter, HUD, Rear Sunshade, Anthracite headliner

On BMW USA this car MSRP is 61375.

Paid $54,230 (before tax, tag, and title)

That is a bit over 7K off MSRP ... How did I do?

According to kbb.com, that price is more than $2K less than invoice. Do you have a signed order? They must be hurting for sales down in Norfolk or you had something to blackmail them with.

I ordered the car back in May and picked it up in August so I have had the car for about a month now.

Looks like he's military (was deployed over the summer) and did the MSP (Military Sales Program), probably at ED list or something. Great price, were you aware that this discount is substantially more than available to the rest of us? Sounds like you honestly didn't know! Congrats.

Military Sales Program is actually better than ED pricing... and it is a direct thank you from BMW to U.S. Servicemen. It requires 6 months overseas or actually being stationed in Germany.

I am waiting to see if my next assignment will be to Germany as I have requested, or stateside to know whether I am going to ED or use the MSP. Fingers crossed for Germany

As a Military man you deserve as many breaks as you can get, you've definitely earned it. I think its very obvious to everyone you got a great deal the rest of us, the best I could get was $58,000 on a a msrp of $63,000 and change.

I knew military sales was a deal but I have some guys I work with who said I should not order it and try to find a deal locally because in today's market they said that you can get good deals through negotiation.

I did not mean to rub anything in anyone's face; I just was wanting to see if I made the right choice by taking the military discount verses trying to negotiate with a dealer.

Not THAT good of a deal from negotiating, for sure! I know what you mean - sometimes it's tough to tell if a "perk" is just marketing (like a car discount from Costco), or if it's actually an authentic deal. Don't think anybody here is jealous, you earned that discount fair and square. Being deployed ain't easy - congrats, and enjoy the car.
