Fog light

So I have noticed an odd thing on 2011 x5d. When I have headlight switch on the auto position, the r foglight comes on even when the foglight switch is off. Both lights come on when the foglight switch is on. When I turn on the headlights manually the foglights stay off until the foglight switch is activated. Is this normal?

It goes along with the adaptive headlights - when you signal at low speeds, it will turn on one of the foglights (it will also turn it on at a turn below something like 30 mph). It's to illuminate any pedestrians.

Both foglights will also turn on when you reverse. All this should be in the manual.
