My assembly started today. How long does this final step take?

I think my whole production phase took four or five business days in total.

Then how long did it take to get to you?

It took 15 days to cross the country by train. All shipments to the western US go by train to California first, then are trucked to the final destination. Mine left South Carolina on 9/10, arrived in CA on 9/25, and made it to Seattle on the 27th. I picked it up two days later.

In your case, I'm not sure it'll take a train, it could very well just get trucked to your dealer. That make only take two or three days.

I pray it gets here soon. It's getting really hard to sleep at night. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas! Thanks for your help!

I totally understand :-) I had it much better than some though. I saw posts from folks who ordered through their dealers a month or more before I did and still didn't have a production start date even after mine was finished. In my case the dealer modifed and order that was just about to start production (one they had on order for stock).

Even so, it was one month from order date until I took delivery. Now that I have it, I've *almost* forgotten the wait. Almost. :-)

My initial order happened like yours, but when I found out about the delay of updates until October production, I had my order moved. :-/ Kinda glad I did... Only if I actuallg get the updates!

The whole process for me from ordering at the dealership to delivery was 2 1/2 weeks . I live in Louisiana . I know that excited cant wait feeling !!!! Congrats !

Got an email this morning that said my truck has been released to the truck carrier today & I will hopefully have it by the weekend!!!

Have you been able to confirm with your CA that your order will include the October updates? My X5 was released to the carrier today as well, but I'm concerned since I've seen an October 10th date on various posts for the new options going into production.

I haven't because, honestly, I'm not waiting on another one.

Is streaming Bluetooth and album art really that important?

iPod out may allow for more over time, so it's worth it to me. I'm probably going to purchase the X5 at lease end, so it will be nice to have.

I planned all along to use a high capacity USB drive (currently 64gb, will buy 128gb when they come down in price) and have as much of my music in wma lossless format for the best sound quality I can get, so the ipod integration was of no value to me.

I recognize it may be nice to have for other folks though.
