fact is it doesnt matter how thick the bottom is if the sides are still stock size. welding a plate simply puts that stress on other parts of the pan which are just as thin. bottom could be a thousand feet of solid aluminum and it means nothing, the sides/back will take that force and blow out just as easy. we are well aware welding an oil pan is common. its just not useful.

me and FCsteve both run ground control coilovers. i run 500f/700r he runs i think 500f/750r. low isn't anything like slammed. you will hit pan everywhere if you don't watch the road very carefully.

Must be a Yankee thing. Don't take this the wrong way

I can hardly stand East coast, ohio valley mid westers. Something about the population density and cold make for some damn ugly and stupid peeps. Every time I see hoarders there in Mass/Penn. Coincidence? If you can smell the cats before you walk up to your house I am sorry you have to live like that.

I asked about the coils to make sure there hasn't been a trend of cheap Racelands being adopted my E30's anywhere. GC is my drug of choice.
You seem pretty cool, I still think Steve is a douche.

i find myself wondering the same thing. IIRC when i first joined fest, SWISS was a respectful guy with decent e30 knowledge.. but now he came out of the woodwork with childish name calling and anger issues . normally, i passively offend people so i understand when they get angry/respond in such a manner. but he ignorantly attacked with no motivation.

No Mark, it's all good, I actually want his posts in here, shows how he doesn't know anything for future reference to whoever sees this thread.

Pretty much what steve said. I'm actually going to take it out right now. Haha. I don't take it out long, maybe 5 minutes tops. I'm trying to figure out why the power steering has random tight spots.

I don't think so. it's a consistent tight spot. turn it say an inch theres a tight spot. another inch, then a tight spot, so on and so forth. the rack didn't look bent when i replaced the subframe.
