E39 (1997 - 2003)

Head gasket done but still overheating ahhhh

i have an e39 m54 2002 auto 520i 2.2 petrol and i recently had the head gasket done as it was blown thought my problems where solved. now every few days the system over pressurizes and coolant is being forced out trough the radiator filler cap. wtf is wrong now and how can i fix it. please help.

Have you had the cooling system done? Could just be a bad bleed. Search around, there's lots of info on both the overhaul and the bleed

cool thanks i will have a look around. have you any pointers on where to find a step by step guide. when you say overhaul do you mean replacing the radiator, water pump etc

What was the final outcome?

The reason I ask is I'm researching for details to cull out to tell the next person with this problem, to help them, from your experience.
- What advice should we provide when a newbie asks for help with a blown E39 engine?
