will e30 struts/and shocks fit on e34? NEED HELP!!

my strut mount broke off and my friend has his old e30 struts laying around, will they mount on the e34 correctly? its a 1990 525i

Probably note. The e34 weaighs 1.6 tons while the e30 is only a 1 ton vehicle, so every support structure would be geared for heavier loads. I wouldn't risk putting it in even though it might look like an exact fit. Although, you can do this....goto www.realoem.com input your car's information on one page and an e30s info on another page and pull out the part numbers for the strut mounts. If they happen to be identical, well, you're in luck and you can indeed use them.

Also, the shock tower top (which I assume is the one that broke) is not that expensive either, and its recommended to replace anyway when working on the strut.

This is a critical safety component actually, do not take chances, Rather replace it with new...
