Lookin for some guide

Hey guys, I have an E34, and I was lookin into an E32, preferably with the V12 (who wouldn't?). I found one for a ridiculously low price. Seller claims that the engine runs and the transmission is good, but it won't rev past 1200 rpm. Is this a quirk some get, or a critical condition?
I always thought the M70s were bullet proof... I'd love to pick this up and bring her back to glory.
Any input?

It is probably in Limp Home mode and only 1/2 of the motor is running.

The list of things it can be is as long as your arm. Usually not all that expensive if you fix it yourself. It may be long and time consuming to find the problem Or it may be the first thing you try.

here's a quick teaser link for the e32s. shogun is very well versed in the e32's. there is also a lot of really good info in the forum for the e32 as well.
