Change plugs at 80,000?
Car is sold, but have to have local shop change the valve cover gasket which has a very small leak. I expect I should have them do the plugs while they are in there? Normally wouldn't do them for another 20k but what do others think?

Absolutely -- should have been done at the 60K Inspection II for optimal performance, I believe.

No inspection records, kid on Long Island that I bought it from got it from dealer in Florida not too long ago. So, if 60k is normal, possibly it was already done? Shop said costs not more to change, so just the cost of plugs. Either way, it's two hours labor, I supply parts. Thanks!

You mean two hours for the valve cover gasket job, right? Not the plugs? Otherwise it's a rip.

They said it was a two hour job either way. In other words once the plugs are exposed it's only a little extra time to change them as well.

Which NGK platinum plugs? I'm sure NAPA can look it up, but I've read to avoid the Bosch plugs. Just did them on the X3, perhaps the same ones??
