Just to make sure I am not missing something:
535i xDrive Carbon Black/Black Leather/Anthracite Wood M Sport Package Premium 1 Premium 2 550i xDrive Carbon Black/Black Leather/Anthracite Wood M Sport Package Premium 2 Other than the engine, the model number on the back (of course), and the exhaust look on the back (535 has rounded while 550 has squared), are these cars exactly... exactly the same? Are there any options on 550 that missing from 535? What about the look? is it exactly the same on the outside and the inside? What about the suspension system, springs etc? any other mechanical parts that might be different? Thanks |

I think the 550i has the navigation system standard too. Looking at it in addition, the 550i has PDC standard as well as leather standard. The standard specs are listed on the website.

I am not too crazy on the performance stuff... however I like a lot the look of the 550 back with the squared exhausts... So maybe I can get the 535 and maybe replace the back bumper and exhausts??? From the other hand, I test drove the 550 and I loved the way it handles on the road... and I want to make sure I will get the same feeling with on 335. This is why I am asking if everything else is exactly the same with the two cars. I am confused.. ![]() Maybe it is not worth the trouble and I should go for the 550 with the $5,500 more |

I was having the same dilemma. The difference is indeed about $5.5-6K. For that you get 100 extra hp and 150 extra in torque + about 300 extra lb and a little disadvantage in weight distribution. You also get a more reliable engine(there have been no known issues with n63 in over 2 years time) , although just how problematic the N55 engine in 535 is not yet completely clear, but it appears, as of now, to be having fewer issues than N54 in the old 535. Note: if you lease, the 550 residual is 4% lower

It should be better due to less weight on the nose in the 6 cylinder car.

I am one of these people that loves cars with bigger engines. So personally, I would go for the 550 xi. With that car you should have close to M5 performance (at least E60 M5).
Once the vendors get a hold of the F11, changing the bumper and exhaust tips should be possible. I have not looked at the parts catalogue but I am pretty certain that you can order the tips from BMW. |
