i have a BMW 745li with 99,980.00 miles on it that i just purchased about 2 weeks ago. 2days after having it the check engine light comes on and the car started shaking(misfire) really bad. they said it was the oxygen sensor so i paid for to new front oxygen sensors, but the day i picked it up, it did the same thing. i purchased another front right oxygen sensor and the problem is still there but we are confused because the computer on the car keeps reading front right oxygen sensor but that is obviously not the only problem. has anyone had this same or similar problem? is there something else that can through on a check engine light for the right oxygen sensor?
all the symptoms that i am having come and go at times. they are engine shaking check engine light running rich drive moderately warning message |

Take to pep boys have them reset the codes (some dont do it
depending on your area) and see if they come back most likely you could have a bad air hose connection to the sensor

I experienced the same issue a couple weeks ago. I changed the plug wires And it started misfiring on different cylinders. The issue happened to be my injectors were severely clogged.

thanks for the clues, the car is still in the shop, i will point them in the direction of those issues and see what they come up with.

i have not tried the coil, but i have tried two different types of plugs, bosch and ngk and its still doing the same thing. the shop called me today and said that everytime they put a new oxygen sensor in, it burns out? now im really confused and frustrated. what can cause the passenger side o2 sensor to keep getting burned out? i will bring up the coil thing and see if thats what it is, its so hard to diagnose becuase it keeps saying its oxygen sensor on the front right bank 1, and today we tried the 3rd oxygen sensor and the problem still is there.

also whenever the problem occurs it starts to sound like a diesel or like im running out of gas even though its a full tank of gas in it.
so far ive heard a possible vacuum leak, fuel pressure regulator, clogged injectors, crack in exhaust manifold. |

first make them read the code and work from there.
