Cool Battery removal question

I am trying to replace the dead battery on my 2004 e46 M3. I can't seem to get the plastic cover off, I removed the two screws in front but the back side seems stuck to the side, I do not want to break it, my car is as pristine as the day I got it.
I could take it to my friends at TNG and they'd take care of it but it bugs me that such a silly thing is giving that much trouble. WELCOME your suggestions....

You need to pull the liner out. It sits down in a slot in the cover.

Just pull on the black part outward and rotate the back part (under the side carpet) downward. It's not going to break, just use common sense.
