Good news and bad news about the Bayern wheels.

The good: seller called me, nice guy, he had been out of town. We're trying to work something out about payment and pick up.

The bad: three of the wheels are 'slightly' bent and the tires are shot. Someone was playing Tokyo Drift with them (his son). Seller assured me they are barely dinged (fixable). I think they're still worth $400 for all six.

You answered your own question. I'm here or on CL (sometimes both at the same time). I've spent a lot of 2-4 AM searches on CL.

Yeah me too, somedays search 3-4 times a day, along with the regional ones

Thats how I found my car....I saw the listing about 10 mins after he posted it, looked at the car a couple hours later and bought it. The PO had the car for sale for a total of about 4 hours

I love that CL finally put a "private seller" filter option on car listings. The local used BMW dealers here flood CL with listings... the same ones every three days. I'll have five pages of BMWs, and it's only about 30 cars. I click on "private seller" and it drops all the dealer listings. Then I get down to serious looking.

The dealers around here have multiple accounts, and post all their cars at least twice a day, sometimes more. Plus, they post in multiple cities

Private seller FTW....plus in Nevada, if you buy through private sale, there is no sales tax

They nail you here for sales tax regardless. You pay it when you register the car. At least it's cheap...1.5%.

if any of you guys have iphones i HIGHLY suggest getting the craigsPRO app, searches any number of areas at the same time as opposed to searching one, then another, then another.

super cool

Its not fair.

We dont have as many nutters with ideas about modifying a car over here, with say; A full bumper decal of Tony Montana or turning their motor into an Autobot or a rebel alliance chariot. However we do have our cousins across the pond willing to perform such elaborate and misguided madness.

Always makes for a great laugh This thread cheers me up no end.

I suppose our equivelant is the boy racers who take an 850cc Renault Clio and stick a hundred weight of plastic and fibreglass on it to give it the edge at sound-off competitions (lulz).

Oh, and a bazooka for an exhaust. I believe this is what you guys would call "Rice"

Brilliant

You gotta stick around here and be more active

You should also visit here, some of the crazy cars you'd see would make you cry! Some guy I work with, age 30 something, drives an early 90s Neon with full ebay body kit (poor fitting), aluminum wing at least 4 feet wide and 3 feet tall, off center racing stripe, and chrome hubcaps. Its epic.

+1 it's 9.75% sales tax even on private party purchases here. Buy a $10,000 car and DMV wants another $1000 (plus transfer fees, smog fees, registration, etc). Nickel and dime for everything - the guy I bought the Mercedes from had lost the 2011 reg sticker, so even though reg was paid I had to pay an additional $18 for another sticker.
