Hi,
I own a E32 730i v8 auto,
This vehicle has been keep off road for the last four years,
(being started from time to time with no problems)
I have now put the car back on the road,
Everything is fine until 30 mins into driving,
the gear selector becomes very stiff to use,
it still drive fine with smooth gear changing,
Anybody have any ideas
Regards
Dez

welcome to the 'fest.

as for the issue, i haven't a clue. i don't believe there are any direct cables linking the gear selector to the transmission, so i would suspect some sort of degris or dirt accumlation under the console, perhaps??

that's where i would start looking.

good luck.

Thanks for the reply,
The gear selector, linkage, cable are all fine,
It would seem the fluid in the box is getting very hot,
Causing the problem of gear selector becoming stiff,
I have a few checks to do, so will keep you posted
