2011 X5 35d arrived!

After going back and forth between a 535xi, 335d, and an X5 35d, I ordered the latter on October 18. I picked it up last night, which was about 2 weeks earlier than I was expecting. I've only driven it home from the dealership and then to work this morning, but it's amazing.

I took a few pictures in the driveway this morning as I know how much people hate "new car" threads that don't have them. They're not the best, but I'll try to get some better ones soon. It's Space Gray with the Cinammon Brown interior and Dark Bamboo wood. As others have noted, pictures don't really do this color interior justice.

Packages include Premium, Technology, Sport Activity, Rear Climate, Cold Weather, and Premium Sound. Options include Multi-Contour Seats, Comfort Access, and Roof Rails. We managed to get $1000 over invoice plus the $3500 Eco Credit + $2500 Holiday Credit, so we're very happy with the deal. I traded my 2007 e92 335i, and while I may miss the insane acceleration that the car was capable of, I expect the X5 to be better in most situations.

This is my second X5, the first being a 2001 3.0 that I didn't keep for very long. While it was a good vehicle, it was too small in the cargo area to satisfy my need to haul stuff every now and then. The e70 isn't huge inside, but it does have enough room when needed.

For those wondering, it has the "normal" non-LED headlights. I have some GP Thunders that I'll put in soon. The iPhone integration works great with my iPhone 4, and so far the iDrive, etc. are great.

Congrats! I kinda regret not getting the cinnamon interior, but I wanted the vent seats! Looking forward to hearing more...I am a few weeks away from PCD!

Thanks for posting - great photos! It made me more excited about my space gray 35d, which is in production this week. How do you like the dark trim? I was considering it with the black leather but wondered if it would be too much black so I stuck with the default trim (dark poplar or something).

The trim is very dark, to the point where it almost looks black at times. I like it, but it might come across as being very dark with black leather. The chrome band adds a bit of contrast. I had dark burl walnut in my 335i with the black leather interior and liked the combo, but that wood seems lighter compared to the dark bamboo in the X5.

That sav looks familiar, inside and out, except for the bigger rims.

Congratulations.

Congratulations! It's beautiful. Thanks for reporting on the iDrive and iPhone integration. Did you lease or buy? Would you mind sharing the price and some more detail about your lease terms. I have ordered mine, but I am still working the deal. I've ordered: Premium, Technology, Sport Activity, Rear Climate, Cold Weather, and Premium Sound. Options include Multi-Contour Seats, Comfort Access, and Roof Rails, rear heated seats and running boards. Seeing yours without running boards, I really like it. My current X5, 2007 4.8i, has them and all they do is get my pants dirty.

You should not pay more than $1000 over invoice.

I ordered around same time. Ordered with Premium Pkg, Heated front seat and Nav. We took the delivery on 13th. Mine is Black ext and Black int. I will post some pictures later.
On a separate note yesterday (navigation issue) I was trying to enter an address in NJ and somehow it was not picking up Rt 130 in the street address at all. I knew where we were going so it was not a problem but I was very disappointed.

Don't assume a specific route goes by a generic "Route XXX." Sometimes roads are called "US XXX" or perhaps "SR XXX" etc....

I've had similar issues and perhaps future software updates will provide more detailed searches when it's looking up an address.

You can always use google maps to send it to your car too.

Yes I did some research and last night I registered my email with BMW for that purpose. Lets hope that I do not have to send it through Google Maps (defeats the purpose of having Navigation). You can not send it if the trip is planned but what if you are out on the road and decide go some place and the X5 navigation can not find it. Well then we have to call the BMW and they can help (that is what the BMW assist guy told me last night).
