$2500 holiday credit

Hey all
I am getting conflicting info about the credit. Some are saying at the dealers that it ha to be delivered by Jan 1 others that it's locked in at time of ordering. This is for a factory ordered car

Thanks

I'm ordering my BMW X5 tomorrow and already got the $2500 credit. You should get the $2500 credit when you order the car.

If you order tomorrow, won't you take delivery sooner than Jan 1? (7+ weeks away)

How did you already receive a $2500 credit for a car you have yet to order?

You have to take delivery by 1/3 to get the credit but they do take it off when you do the order or purchase a car off the lot!

My salesman at BMW when giving me a price for the X5 Sport, he already deducted $2500 on the price of the car. I'm just going back tomorrow to finalize the deal.

Ordered today and the $2500 credit is on the order sheet signed by me and the dealer. Don't see how they can deny it regardless of the delivery date. If the dealer wants to change the rules at delivery, I'll walk!

Ordered the other day and dealer told me program is lockable through 2/28/11. Either have to take delivery or have a signed contract

My experience was that I had the credit factored in even though my X5 arrived after Jan 1 of this year.

Lock it in and agree to it. In my case, the credit was deducted on top of a negotiated price close to invoice.

You don't have to take delivery before 1/2/11, but need to place the order and lock the BMW financing before 1/2, and then take delivery before the lock expires.

As I understand it, different areas have different "lock" periods. I believe it is a 90 day lock in this area.

It's in the contract (bill of sale) so it's binding!

The dealer I'm speaking with says that 2500 credit is only applicable to finance. Are there any penalties if we prepay the finance charge 2 weeks later and run with the 2500?

Our dealer told us that we had to pay maybe 3-4 months worth and then we can pay if off if we would like.

I believe BMW loans say 90 days until you are free of prepayment penalties, but after that you can just pay it off and take the money! Also BMW Financial has a 10K minimum to finance (at least in my area).
