Replacing a tail light assembly on an E36

Hi all. I have a 1999 328i convertible and am told that I need to replace the tail light assembly due to corrosion. I have searched the internet and can't find any info on replacing the assembly. I find plenty of info on replacing the tail lights themselves, or the brake light switch, but not the whole assembly.

Can someone please point me in the direction of an explanation (or video etc) of how to do this? I can't seem to find a thread on this anywhere. Or if someone can explain the procedure I would sincerely appreciate it.

Thank you so much for reading.

Here is a tail light installation guide (PDF) from DDM Tuning (most prolific retailer of E36 tails): LINK

It's very easy.

Also, just FYI: the tail lights that DDM sells have a much thicker gasket than the originals, and will do a much better job of keeping water/moisture out (and they're on sale now for only $55.00 - a killer deal).

Here is what I'm talking about (LINK)

Good luck!
