Got a "thumbs up" tonight

So we were going "to the city" (DC) to see a play and dinner. First I wasn't going to take the 535i since valet parking might be involved . In the end thought it would be nice to cruise down in more style than the wife's TL. While we were on the way to dinner, two guys were crossing in front of us and noticed the car -- they looked and looked, one probably telling the other what it was. I waved and they gave me a "thumbs up" -- my wife still thinks they were looking at her! Anyway, found parking spaces on the street at both locations -- saved!

I'm more impressed by you going into DC and finding spots in front of BOTH locations without getting a) a ticket or b) towed.

Probably because we went down early -- matinee at the new Arena stage, parked right outside. Then to Kinkead's on Penn Ave, at 6PM, parking right at their curb!

I bet the color of your car looks stunningly elegant at sunset/night.

And of course you did agree with your wife that they were looking at her!

Something akin happened to me while going out to celebrate redelivery of my F10 a couple of weeks ago. I went to one of Miami Beach's hot spots on Ocean Drive and the valet offered to leave the car right in front of the place, instead of parking it offsite. Needless to say, I agreed as it would be a safer spot than their regular parking lot.

Now, I KNOW that did not happen because of my wife. In fact, I paid $40 for the privilege. Still, no amount of money would have sufficed had I been driving what we in Miami call "a transportation," not in those swanky places in South Beach.

Some pics for Rafa... BTW, I had Terra (aka Cinnamon) in my previous 335i so I was torn between Cinnamon and Oyster/Black -- I bet yours looks great too.

Beautil car indeed! The Saphire was my first choice of color, as it showcases the F10 the best, in my opinion. However, I did not go for it in the end because it requires the highest degree of maintenance, and Miami can be dusty, damp (morning dew) and dirty at times. For the interior I chose the oyster/black just to get more contrast, and although oyster requires more care than cinnamon, I have better control over the interior getting dirty than the exterior. Cinnamon, however, looks great!

Thanks for the pics, and keep enjoying your car. I bet that you will be getting many more thumbs up, even in DC where people may not be quite as impressionable as elsewhere!

I've had mine since June and I get a thumbs up or the nice car comment at least once a week.

My family member with a new F10 got a thumbs up from a cadillac dts driver.
So yeah, some people like it!
