xenon headlights
so i ordered a 528 that was supposed to have the xenon headlights but somehow it didn't get on my order. the car has already been built and is waiting at the ship yard.
Do you think its worth it to reorder the car with the headlights? i plan on keeping this car for 7-10 yrs so maybe its worth it |

Reorder the car! I could not live without Xenon's now. I've had them in my last two cars and going back to a vehicle without is horrendous. They really make that much difference! The aftermarket options are no where near as good. Reorder!

I have had Xenon headlights on my last three BMWs. Xenons provide superior illumination, and I wouldn't have a BMW without them, especially if I planned to keep the car a number of years. I am disappointed that they don't come standard on the 528i, considering the price of the vehicle.

I have a 535, so I wasnt an "option" for me. But I think at this day in age, HID lights should be standard equipment across BMWs entire US model lineup.

I would definitely reorder.
Not only would you lose the Xenon light, you would also lose the front LED signal light (traditional amber bulb is used for signal light with Halogen headlights instead of amber LEDs). Some users have also reported that the LED Halo light (Angel Eyes) is set to lower brightness in Halogen headlights. |

I'd reorder; it's likely the salesman's fault that the order was put in incorrectly. |

My 550i is the first car I have with xenons. They really make a difference! I enjoy the turning headlamps and the auto high beams, which I used a lot on secondary roads in Italy during my ED. Here in the US, at least on the roads I drive most, the auto high beams do not have to work as hard, as the roads are better illuminated and with more traffic than the Italian countryside roads. Still, bi-xenons rule.

Xenons are imo the most important of all non standard safety features bmw offers. Re-order.

Best headlights I have ever had on any vehicle, ever. We have a 2006 Lexus LX 470 with non-xenons and the difference is remarkable. I think I can categorically say I'll never buy a non-Xenon vehicle again, it's that important. Maybe it's because I'm getting older and can't see as well....

My first Xenon car was E39 over 14 years ago; at that time, Xenon/HID was pretty rare, and people stared at the headlights everywhere I went. And Xenon became a must have for all my cars ever since. |

How do you know the car doesn't have them? If it was on the order sheet you authorized I can't believe it is not on the car.

OP says it is not in his order. His CA probably did not write the option in.

I agree, you'll re-order the car. They should give you additional discounts for having to wait again.
I was burned on an improper order when I bought my 2nd car, WAY back... Since then I learned it is of utmost importance for the dealer to actually show you the order after it is placed to insure that everything is there. In fact, my dealer made me sign off on the order form after they got it placed on the BMW web site. I wish everyone would do this simple thing -- it would save a lot of disappointment. Best of luck with the new order!
