Recall notice #10v-446 brake vacuum pump

Just received recall notice for this one. "The issue involves the power braking function. A small amount of oil could leak from the brake vacuum hose. Over time, contamination of the brake booster could occur. This could affect the poer assist braking function. In an extreme case, loss of the poer brake assist could occur."


Has anyone else gotten this recall?

Wow. Another negative post by the troll. Now that is a surprise. He doesn't have an F10 him/herself, but he obsesses of his hatred of BMW. Given the number of posts he is undoubtedly unemployed.

Are you sure this recall is not for the E60? i received the recall notice, but the Veh ID was for my recently retired E60.

I believe that this ends at the 2010 MY. Googling seems to back this up.

Summary:
BMW IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2004-2010 5-SERIES, 6-SERIES, AND MODEL YEAR 2002-2008 7-SERIES VEHICLES. A CHECK VALVE OF THE BRAKE VACUUM PUMP MAY LEAK A SMALL AMOUNT OF LUBRICATING OIL. OVER TIME THIS COULD RESULT IN CONTAMINATION OF THE BRAKE BOOSTER.

Consequences:
POWER ASSIST BRAKING PERFORMANCE COULD BE ADVERSELY AFFECTED. IN EXTREME CASES THERE COULD BE A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER ASSIST BRAKING. AN UNEXPECTED REDUCTION OR LOSS IN POWER BRAKING ASSIST MAY INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy:
THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT YET PROVIDED A REMEDY OR AN OWNER NOTIFICATION SCHEDULE FOR THIS CAMPAIGN. OWNERS MAY CONTACT BMW AT 1-800-525-7417.
