Behr Blower Motor - removing squirrel cages

Hello everyone,

Is it possible to remove the squirrel cages from an older blower motor, and use them on a replacement motor? It seems from looking around (partsgeek.com), that the bosch motor (shown without the cages) is way much cheaper than the whole assembly.
