hi
was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this... when its cold out and we start the car- gas leaks ( ? ) from the front end of car .. at least thats where a small puddle will appear on the driveway... will get awful gas smell inside of car at that point but like i said this only happens when its cold out... is this just a hose? we had the fuel tank and pump replaced about a year ago. any info or suggestions are are very much appreciated and because of the time of the year i really need DIY help -thanks so much!!

Could be the cold start valve (not used in 1988) or a hose or possibly an injector O-ring. Sometimes it's as simple as a hose clamp is loose. You need to find where it's coming from. The rubber hoses and O-rings deteriorate with age and since the fuel system is under high pressure leaks can become a serious problem real fast.

Thanks so much for your response !! the leak seems to be coming from the inside of the left front tire area -- at least on the left side -- puddle ends up being about 6-7 inches from tire, are there hoses in that area and do you know if they are easily replaced ?
thnx! Kerry

There's hoses there but difficult to reach. You can trace some of them back from the front of the fuel rail. There's also fuel lines at the rear of the fuel rail that run to the left side of the car. Replace whatever hoses you can while your in there. You can do a search on Mye28.com and find some tips that may help. Taking out the air cleaner assembly will probably give you a little better access.
