$1500 Holiday Credit question

My CA told me that the $1500 holiday credit is applicable to any order placed prior to Jan 3rd. So I would be "locked in" even for delivery after Jan 3rd.

Others are being told that the car must be delivered by Jan 3rd.

What is accurate?

Once approved and with a production number prior to 1/3/11 you are locked for 60 or 90 days. Car may have to be delivered by 3/31/11 however.

I have been told "accurate" = order placed by Jan 3rd and car delivered within 2 months...but I guess "accurate" really is whatever the CA needs to tell you to get you to sign on the dotted line. I do know if you order a car now and if it's not delivered before Jan 3rd you still get the $1500 because I have made a deal that does just that.

My CA stated:
1. Must order by 3 Jan.
2. It is locked until 4 Mar (60 days).
3. Must pay for car by 4 Mar.
4. He must have a VIN when you pay. Which means the car must have already started production.
5. The payment/lease clock starts when you pay.

So playing the timing game, my CA said I could schedule a European Delivery date up to two weeks after Mar 4 which would ensure the car would have a VIN on or before 4 Mar. Any date later the two weeks increases the risk that the car wouldn't have a VIN on 4 Mar. I've put in a request for 4 Mar ED pick-up -which means I would have no risk at all.

Thanks dunderhi

I'm also planning on ED with pickup on March 4th! Maybe I'll see you there.

I'm building a 550i xdrive with M sport, PP2, 2TB, and CWP.

What are you getting?

What sort of deal did you get?

I don't have the date confirmed yet, but Mar 4th is my first pick. I hope to hang out in Munich for the Fasching activities.

Model - 550i Xdrive
Paint - Alpine White
Leather - Cinnamon Brown Dakota
Trim - Anthracite Wood

Packages
M Sport
Active ventilated seats
Cold Weather
Driver Assistance
Premium Package 2
Convenience Package

Options
Sport Automatic w/ paddles
Head-up Display

As far as the deal I got, it fell within the range of a good deal cited on the ED Wiki, so I can't complain.
