Red face 01 740iL - Headlight bulb replacement

Hey,

I just declined paying a mechanice shop $150 to change the passenger side headlight bulb. Can someone assist me in this process? What should I watch for? How hard is it?

Thanks...

Yikes...$150 for a flippin bulb change.

Just go to a parts shop or some ONLINE place that sells REALLY good replacment bulbs for your 01' 740iL and change it yourself. Will take ya all of 15 mins. ( Keep in mind if you have XENON or Non-Xenon headlamps..Thats makes a diff I hear..hehehe )

740's & Shorties ( No iL )

95-98 = H1 Bulb
99 Non Xenon, non projector = H7 ( You can get REALLY great SUPER/ULTRA white damn near xenon Versions of this bulb, check it out )
99-01 Factory Xenon = D2S

Upgrade the other bulbs whilst your at it..so there for if and when they go out, they will go out together.

Just remember to buy bulbs for the "HIGH" beam AND the "LOW" beam. They will run you like $40 a pair I think...but WAAYYY better than $150!!!!

And when you get your new bulbs.....hit up E38.org for getting everything together...Hope this helps.

Hugs!

XOXO

An 01 should have Xenon bulbs, which will be more expensive to purchase. However, take a look at this:

Xenon headlight change
