1991 735i overheating
what can i do to check and see if the water pump is working properly? vehicle is overheating and im trying to narrow it down. also how do i bleed the coolant lines? thanks for any help you can give me.

first i would check the coolant level, and if low, then find and repair any leaks.
the coolant would not be circulating if the pump decided to go south, and a non-contact infra red thermometer would work great to check the temps. iirc, there should be a bleeder on the thermostat housing. i believe all of the m30 engines are similar in this proceedure, so there should be lots of diy's online. pelican may even have a good link as well. here's one that i have glanced over and think is accurate to the proceedures) i have done on many, many different makes and models, not just bmw. http://www.bmw7resource.co.uk/TechDo...d%20System.pdf good luck, df
