E39 Facelift Halogen to Xenon HELLA OEM retrofit

Since when does it matter where light bulbs are made from? And these have as good a warranty as any. I don't mind buying German when it make sense, but for light bulbs? In any case, I'm just providing my experience to the OP but feel free to choose what works best for you.

I don't know about your headlights, but the insides of mine are posted here:

In mine, the self-leveling stalk is prominent as its one of three points holding up the two reflectors for the high and low beams.

There are lots and lots of pictures of it in those threads, but this shot below should give you an idea where the stalk is. Of course, you'd have a motor on it and I wouldn't - but it appears to be in the same spot.

Sweet. At $300 for a pair of bulbs? No thanks. Also since my Hella's are literally on their last leg I don't think even the best bulbs in the world would help them any. Yes it's partly due to my laziness to complete the time consuming adjuster replacement DIY and partly due to my not wanting to spend $400 to $800 for new headlight assembly's. i tried to see which HID bulb i have but cant take this bulb off

the yellow connector is off now , how to remove the HID buld from the socket ?? i just don't want to break anything

Yeah the first time is kinda quirky but once you see how the bulbs are in there it's incredibly easy to swap them out. Did you find a good price on the bulbs?

True, but that seller swears they are the real deal. Not that it means anything mind you but he appears to be a reputable seller. I wouldn't pay $300 for these but I would pay $30 for them. Let us know how the compare.

This link doesn't contain the information you expected, I think, but it turns out that the cheaper bulbs give as much (or even more) light than the "fancy schmancy" bulbs.
