Oil Change Question

What's up board? Hope you are all well...I have a 1995 m3 manual coupe. Love it!

What's the deal with oil changes?

I'm not mechanically inclined whatsoever and I have no facilities to perform the oil change even if I wanted to.

A friend of mine told me to expect to pay $90 bucks for an oil change.

I asked an independent BMW mechanic how much he charges for an oil change and he said $70 bucks.

I was driving by the local gas station/car wash and they had an advertisement posted that said $24.99 for an oil change plus a free car wash.

What's the catch?

How could this place only charge $24.99 plus throw in a free car wash?!

Do they change the oil, but not the filter? Is the oil they use not synthetic? Is the 1995 m3 so complicated to do an oil change that they couldn't do it even if I wanted them to?

I'm extremely confused in this matter and any light you guys could shed on the situation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Mike
