Exclamation Z4 Electrical Problems, too much rain on ragtop

Hello Forum Members,

I'm new here and desperately seeking help. After a week of heavy rain, my husband drove our Z4 Roadster and turned the CD player on only to have it short out. He got home turned everything off, but the radio/CD was still on and the windows would not close. We could smell a plastic burning oder. He opened the battery compartment to disconnect and found the battery sitting in an inch of water. He drained the water out and left everything to dry out for a couple of days. Today he started the car and was able to roll up the driver's side window by using the key only. The CD/Radio does not work. He checked the fuses and can find nothing wrong. I read in one of your posts about a G5 Module that seems to control everything from the wipers to windows. I would like to think were on the right track, but I just don't have a clue. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Also, is this something we can fix ourselves. After the holidays, I just don't need a huge repair bill.

I have no experience with your issue, but based on what you posted I found a guy that repairs BMW GM5 relay modules. Check out his website and see if your problems match his repairs. http://www.bmwgm5.com/
