My wife is hooked, need invoice prices

We were all set to get an Acura RDX and then my wife happened to check the X3 website again. Needless to say, a few hours at the dealer and she wants nothing but the new X3. The interior is such a huge improvement and the ride is quite nice. Of course, they had her at power tailgate.

So now it's time to start figuring out the numbers. I've found invoice prices on the base model, but not for any of the option packages. Does anyone have them? Does anyone have lease rates as well? We're looking at the xDrive28.

Also, I assume that dealers aren't coming down from MSRP given how hot these things are. Is anyone having any luck bargaining up from invoice? Or bargaining at all?

Thanks in advance!
Mike

I found invoice prices with options on kbb.com.

That still leaves lease rates and if anyone has had luck bargaining in the DC area.

Given how "hot" this new X3 is turning out to be, you might as well do PCD. Pick it up at the Greer plant, have some fun, do a sweet road trip back come. It's only 7-8 hours driving.

Of course you can bargain with them. Everybody have hard time making a sale. If one dealership doesn't give you what you want, go to the other one.

And maybe edit your thread title? I thought you said your wife is something else.... Lol

When did Bimmerfest stop posting US & Euro Delivery invoices prices? I don't see them in the stickies anymore...

BMWNA started contacting the web sites some time ago (late last year or early this, I think) and convinced them to remove the copyrighted internal BMW documents. No problem with discussing the invoice prices, it is just the actual BMW confidential material that is now taboo.

I have three dealers sending me regular e mails on the new x3. Pushing to test drive and order.

Believe me you can get a discount. If you act like you really don't care you will get a good price. I would suggest leaving wife at home given your description.

Before you actually buy it make SURE your wife takes it for a long test drive and goes over some rough pavement, pot holed streets, and raised expansion jointed concrete roadways. Otherwise it may be a long three years until your lease is up.

Heh that's why I never leave my email with dealers. Retailers can ask for a phone number but they can't force ya to give them email addresses.

I have three e mail addesses

one spam

one private

one business

I even have a phone number for spam callers.

However should you be foolish enough to call my cell phone unsolicted you get a bill from my consulting firm. That stops them dead in their tracks most times.

I like the dealers e mailing me as they all seem to know each other and it makes it easier to play one against another.

We both gave it a test drive last weekend and were surprised by how nice the ride was, even going over speed bumps. I surmise that people that think the new X3 has a terrible ride are people who haven't actually driven one.

I understand about the copyrighted invoice documents, but still nothing on lease rates?

Mike, its not the "speed bumps" its the broken pavement, pot holed streets, and raised expansion jointed concrete roadways that cause the latte to spill on the Chanel suit and the lipstick to be smeared. I sincerely hope that BMW has gotten the message that the X3 rode too stiff and fixed it.

Does California maintain its roadways properly? My X3 rides pretty well over most of the expansion joints in VA-NC-SC even at speeds 70-85mph (140km/h). Certainly would not cause a spill from an open drink (not allowed anyway) or break one's back. On the other hand, some of the bridges in MD......let's just say the engineers there must have not used a ruler.

Az, lets be charitable and say that CA's roadways are a "work in progress". The state has run out of money (don't get me started on that!) and one of the things left undone is permanent repairs to the roadways. Lots of "patching" and indeed some actual work, but all too often it is left undone until the potholes swallow a Smart Car or Mini. Not a good place to try out your new X3 if you are at all concerned with harsh ride problems. As far as the latte spilling, yes it can happen, right out of the pax cupholder (which is kind of a joke anyway) and onto the lap, not an open cup but enough latte came out to cause serious stain damage to the Cream colored suit. You mention bridges, yes that is a problem here. The "transition" from the roadway to the bridge is often marked by a huge"bump" that really tells you how stiff that suspension is. Except for the deluge down in SoCal the weather makes up for most of the problems and it was my fault for not fully checking out the X3 over these horrible roads before I bought it. Mea Culpa!

Closing the loop, we ordered an X3 on the 30th for $500 over invoice (I have a really good relationship with my CA).

Yes, we went with the 28, with Cold weather, convenience, tech, and premium packages.

While both my wife and i could tell the difference between the 35 and the 28, we ultimately decided she didn't need a high-performance engine. If she truly dislikes it, we can always upgrade in a few years. I found that from a stop, the 28 has a lot of smooth power, but I found it lagged at times when slowing down and quickly speeding up again. The transmission took a while to figure itself out. Either way it's a big upgrade from her old Rav4 :-D

congrats. My wife is hooked too. What color combo you order ? We ordered Space Gray/Mojave Leather/Finelive Wave Wood with Premium, Tech and Convenience package.

I was considering Audi Q5 but my wife wants Bimmer.

FWIW, My '08 535Xi has this trait as well when I leave the transmission in D. If I put it in Sports Drive, then it is very responsive at any speed.

MSRP was $47,825 incl destination. We paid nowhere near that ($500 over invoice).
