Question FULLY Loaded F25 35i or X6?

I'm still about 4 months out from pulling the trigger, so I'm allover the place. I'm pretty much set on what I want. But a FULLY loaded X3 35i is quite enticing.

BMW-MS 55,385.00 tax free, with EVERY package & option, free shipping back to the states, and free loaner till I take delivery.

I would get the F25 X3 just for the looks alone. Not too big of a fan of how the X6 looks.

I don't care for it either. Looks too much like an old American Motors Eagle. I hope they are not going to ship it all the way to Germany from SC so you can take delivery and get the tax benefit? Hard to see how you would get it in the US tax free if it was built here and you registered it in some state. They will want their pound of flesh.

The X6 is pretty homely.

Overseas Military = tax free. Register it here and then when I return, depending on the state, I will pay only registration fee, or get taxed on the value of the veh @ time of registration in the US.

X6m bases @ 78k through BMW-MS. Still too rich for me.

Fully loaded X3 --hands down. Have you ever seen the review of the X6 by the guys at top gear?

It couldn't get up a slightly inclined grassy hill.

Sure I don't go off roading with my X3, but on the occasion I did it, operated superbly pulling me out of a back logging road that had become a mud slide.

Plus the X6 just looks like a rejected idea from a James Bond movie.

Why get a US made car in Germany? That aside, the X6 is laughable.

The top gear episode showed the X6 using less agressive tires than the competition plus Jeremy rarely has anything good to say about BMW. Point is that it is a very subjective and biased review.

BTW, I'm not sure any other X vehicle would have fared better given the unequal circumstances...

^^Anywho, I'm a soldier stationed in Germany and will return to the US sometime in the future. So buying a BMW tax free and returning to the states with it is what alot of us do.

The X6 is a few thousand dollars more than the fully loaded X3, IMHO I like it more, but considering that the wife is going to be the primary driver, I figured a fully loaded X3 would be a good compromise, and once I join the contracting world, I'll be able to afford a fully loaded next Gen 'look at me' BMW that is out then.

Fortunately the wife nixed it...so this is all moot. She said I'd be complaining about it a year later...prolly right. I mean the X3 just doesn't have the pizazz or status that an X6 does.
