Diesel engined X1 20d coming to North America
According to this Edmunds article, we'll have a diesel option in the X1 and other smaller BMWs in 2012.

Anyone know what we can expect for X1 engines? I think I can hold my wife off until June if there will be a 4 cylinder d in the offing, later even with another ED.......
If not it will be a jetta wagon for sure.....

I have asked several BMW sales managers and have been told that the diesel will not be available at launch. I was told the same thing about the x3. I did see that mercedes will offer their GLK with a 2.2 L diesel within the next year.

I guess I will have to stretch the life of the old civic until that diesel engine is out. I drive too much to rely on gasoline. I'm lead-footed, so a hybrid won't do.

How do those compare? I would understand a GLK vs an X3.
